Manufacturing - Welder
POSITION SUMMARY: The Welder uses a handheld MIG process to weld various materials to manufacture engineered, fabricated parts. |
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reads and interprets blueprints to create quality welds
- Inspects welds for accuracy
- Welds different types of base materials including mild steel, stainless steel, manganese steel, and mild steel with chromium carbide overlay
- Repairs broken or cracked parts, fills holes, and increases the size of metal parts
- Qualifies their operations by using the Quality Assurance Inspection Traveler for each job
- Adheres to all safety standards
- Adheres to all company guidelines and policies
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Ability to read instruments such as a tape measure and calipers
- Basic shop math
- Ability to read and understand blueprints
- Overhead crane use
- Hi-Lo license
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Shop Environment
- Dirty/Dusty Environment
- Loud, Frequent Noises
- Ability to lift approximately 50lbs
