Hardfacing and Joining Electrodes

SA100NMC: Austenitic Stainless Steel Weld Wire

This weld wire is for welds joining dissimilar steels (steels that are difficult to weld such as an austenitic manganese steel.) Good for wear and corrosion build-ups. Used for buffer layers in hardfacing. Use flux cored wire for impact service build-up.

Available Wire Sizes:

  • 1/16”
  • 3/32”
  • 1/8”
  • .035”
  • .045”

SA1750CR: Hardfacing Weld Wire and Rod

Hardfacing with SA1750CR weld wire/rod is a cost effective solution to premature equipment wear. The resulting weld deposit is a combination of iron carbon alloy with high concentration of carbon, chrome and manganese. SA1750CR is highly resistant to sliding abrasion and erosion. This is similar to the material we use to manufacture SureAlloy SA1750CR Premium Chromium Carbide Overlay Plate.

Available WIre Sizes:

  • .045”
  • .062”

Available Rod Sizes:

  • 1/8”
  • 5/32”
  • 3/16”

SA1750CROP: Out of Position Hardfacing Weld Wire

This is a high hardness chrome carbide hardfacing alloy that resists severe abrasion, including high stress grinding, low stress scratching and gouging abrasion. It is useful for wear resistant repairs to existing liners without removal. The spray transfer feature of SA1750CROP and solidifier make it good for out of position applications.

Available Wire Sizes:

  • .045”

SA2000: Complex Carbide Hardfacing Wire

This is a flux-cored complex carbide hardfacing alloy. SA2000 is an effective solution to premature equipment/component wear due to extreme abrasion. The resulting weld deposit is a combination of iron carbon alloy with high concentration of carbon, chrome carbides and noble carbides. It is similar to the material we use to manufacture SureAlloy SA2000 Premium Complex Carbide Overlay Plate.

SA6000: Patent Pending Complex Carbide Hardfacing Wire

SA6000 weld wire is a patent pending, iron-based alloy specifically designed to produce overlays using conventional wire welding processes that replicate the microstructure of tungsten carbide PTA overlays. SA6000 grows extremely hard molybdenum boride particles homogeneously throughout the entire weld bead. These molybdenum boride particles are harder and smaller than the tungsten carbide hard phase in PTA weld overlays — a characteristic that enhances impact resistance. SA6000 is particularly suitable for applications where resistance to gouging or high-stress abrasion is required.

Coatings of SA6000 pair the toughness required for high impact applications with superb wear resistance that rival most other wear-resistant coatings on the market. Its welded microstructure looks similar to tungsten carbide - nickel PTA overlays while simultaneously avoiding the long, needle-like particles known to cause problematic embrittlement in chromium carbide overlays and many nanostructured steel alloys.

SA550NM: Manganese Flux-Cored Weld Wire

This is a work-hardening austenitic manganese flux-cored wire, alloyed with chromium and nickel for improved weld deposit properties over a standard manganese alloy. SA550MN is designed for build-up, hardfacing and fabricating with manganese steel. The deposits are tough and work-harden as plastic deformation occurs during impact.

  • .045”
  • 1/16”
  • 7/64”
